Transport service Terms & Conditions
These terms explain the basis on which Kings Logistics Services Ltd, trading as KLS SameDay, provides dedicated courier and transport services. They apply alongside the details and price shown in the relevant quotation or booking confirmation.
1. Customer information
The customer must provide accurate collection and delivery addresses, dates, access information, contact details, load description, dimensions, weight and any special handling requirements. KLS may revise or withdraw a quotation if the information supplied is incomplete or changes.
2. Prices and additional charges
The quoted price covers the journey and services expressly described in the quotation. The following charges may be added when applicable:
| Item | Current charge |
|---|---|
| Waiting time | First 30 minutes free, then £60 per hour |
| Loading or unloading assistance | £20 minimum per end |
| Additional drops | £25 per additional drop |
| Night work | 25% surcharge |
| Saturday work | 30% surcharge |
| Sunday or bank-holiday work | 50% surcharge |
| Tolls, parking, ULEZ/congestion charges and ferries | Charged as applicable |
Extra mileage, route changes, failed access, redelivery, unusual delay or services requested after quotation may also be charged at the applicable KLS rate. KLS will communicate material changes where reasonably possible.
3. Waiting, access and loading
The customer must ensure that collection and delivery locations are accessible and that the goods are ready at the agreed time. Waiting begins when the vehicle arrives at the agreed location. Unless loading assistance is included, the customer and recipient are responsible for providing suitable people and equipment to load and unload safely.
4. Goods and safety
The customer must disclose fragile, valuable, hazardous, restricted, oversized or temperature-sensitive goods before booking. Goods must be packaged and secured suitably for transport. KLS may refuse goods that are unsafe, unlawful, inadequately packed or materially different from the booking information.
5. Changes, cancellation and failed collection
Changes are subject to vehicle and driver availability and may change the price. If a booking is cancelled or cannot proceed after a vehicle or driver has been allocated or dispatched, KLS may charge reasonable costs already incurred. Any cancellation charge will reflect the timing and circumstances of the cancellation.
6. Delivery and proof
KLS may record delivery using the recipient's name, signature, photograph, timestamp and delivery notes. Estimated collection or delivery times are not guaranteed where delay results from traffic, weather, road closures, access problems or events outside reasonable control, but KLS will provide updates where practicable.
7. Payment
Payment is due according to the terms stated on the quotation, booking confirmation or invoice. The customer must raise any invoice query promptly and pay any undisputed amount by its due date.
8. Responsibility and mandatory rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where the law does not permit this. Customers must notify KLS promptly of loss, damage or service concerns and provide supporting information so the matter can be investigated. Statutory rights, where applicable, are not affected.
9. Personal information
KLS uses customer, contact, recipient, tracking and proof-of-delivery information to arrange and evidence transport services. See the KLS Privacy Notice for further information.
10. Contact and governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Contact KLS about a booking or these terms at info@klssameday.co.uk or 0330 043 5237.
